Dear Neighbors,

In the past few years we have had to endure an economic crisis, soaring unemployment, increased cost of living, rising foreclosures, and the constant threat of cuts to City and State services that we all rely on. While the economic downturn was no fault of our own, it seems we are bearing the brunt of it.  Furthermore, on the national level, we have witnessed elected officials put politics before people by blocking the President's progressive job creating policies.

Our communities deserve better and should not settle for less from its governments in Albany or Washington D.C.  I’m running for District Leader because I believe that Democracy is not a spectator sport, but a system that works best when more of us participate.  By educating our local residents on the issues, policies and the political process, we will see greater participation.  When more and more members of our community begin to vote and engage our elected leaders we will start to see the changes we’ve sought.

That is the goal I will work towards as District leader of New York’s 42nd Assembly District.  With your support we can see our communities thrive again.

Sincerely

Josue Pierre
